Michelle is a jazz musician whose chosen instrument is Voice.

Known for her ability to get right to the heart of a song, as well as being an in-the-moment improviser, Michelle has continually developed and nurtured her art form with the help of her quartet. As well as releasing 6 CDs, the MNQuartet has toured extensively throughout Australia and internationally –

Arranger, band leader and award-winning jazz vocalist Michelle Nicolle started her musical career when she began the violin at the age of eight in the Barossa Valley, South Australia in the 1970s. Based in Melbourne, she is now celebrated as Australia’s finest jazz singer.

Leading her band with a quiet dignity, Nicolle’s apparent ease at clever, difficult, and varied improvisation, bring to mind the skills of singers like Betty Carter, Mel Torme or Ella Fitzgerald. But this exceptionally talented woman sounds like none of those singers. What she does hold in common is being true to her artistic self, having an incredible ‘ear’ as well as being a serious jazz musician and lyricist. Her clear tone and impressive breath control indicate hard work and dedication to her art form.

I have a tooth issue I went to the dentist. Tuesd I have a tooth issue
I went to the dentist. Tuesday was prescribed amoxicillin. I have not taken any kind of antibiotic in years and it has knocked me out. My top left tooth is inflamed and has an abscess. I'm exhausted. Last night I was in bed by 8:00 and asleep. I don't know if it's the infection or the antibiotics, but dear Lord, this is knocking me out deepest apologies to my friend Claudia Acuña I was so looking forward to seeing her concert last night but wasn't able to attend due to my inflamed tooth earache headache. Dear Lord.

When you see the image below the dark area next to the screw Is the part of my gums that is infected. After I do these antibiotics in a few months I will have to have an operation on that tooth in the gums.

Rest in peace, Yayoi Kusama. The pioneering Japane Rest in peace, Yayoi Kusama. The pioneering Japanese artist, famed for her polka dots, pumpkins, Infinity Mirror Rooms, and Obliteration Room, has died at 97. The Yayoi Kusama Museum and her gallery, David Zwirner, announced her death on August 26; Kusama died in Tokyo on August 14.

Born in Matsumoto, Japan, Kusama moved to New York in the late 1950s and emerged as a leading figure of the city’s avant-garde, working across painting, sculpture, performance, installation, literature, and poetry. Her work helped shape Pop and performance art, while her installations helped transform what we now think of as experiential art.

Her singular visual language also extended into fashion. Kusama collaborated with Louis Vuitton in 2012 and again in 2023, covering the house’s bags, clothing, shoes, and accessories in her signature "self-obliteration" dots and colorful motifs.

“My idea is to send the message of ‘love forever’ to all the people in the world through the polka dots, which are all about the universe and human beings and living things,” she told W while working on our 2013 cover with George Clooney (slides 2 and 9). “Your sex, being famous, being a star has nothing to do with it.”
Yayoi Kusama (March 22, 1929 – August 14, 2026) was a legendary Japanese avant-garde artist who passed away at the age of 97, leaving behind an indelible legacy as the world's top-selling female artist. Celebrated globally for her signature polka dots, immersive Infinity Mirrored Rooms, and iconic polka-dotted pumpkins, Kusama pioneered structural changes in contemporary art by bridging minimalism, pop art, and performance art. She was just genius. Rest in peace.
