Women Who Make America

April 14, 2015 by Perez Leave a Comment

Hip Chick Alert wants all you Women to look at this documentary and hold on to your rights – fight for equal pay- pass this in to your family members- in support of:

NYC Equal Pay Rally today, April 14, 2015 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am

NYC Steps of City Hall today!

Women Who Make America tells the remarkable story of the most sweeping social revolution in American history, as women have asserted their rights to a full and fair share of political power, economic opportunity, and personal autonomy. It’s a revolution that has unfolded in public and private, in courts and Congress, in the boardroom and the bedroom, changing not only what the world expects from women, but what women expect from themselves.

MAKERS brings this story to life with priceless archival treasures and poignant, often funny interviews with those who led the fight, those who opposed it, and those first generations to benefit from its success. Trail-blazing women like Hillary Rodham Clinton, Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah Winfrey share their memories, as do countless women who challenged the status quo in industries from coal-mining to medicine. MAKERS captures with music, humor, and the voices of the women who lived through these turbulent times the dizzying joy, aching frustration and ultimate triumph of a movement that turned America upside-down.

And ending to a what the f xxx day Thank God for And ending to a what the f xxx day

Thank God for Jazz. Thank God for my friends who called me today and my need. Thank God for the support of the unity of the Jazz and the arts community and the events community. What a devastating day for me. I'll be fine. I don't think that God gives you anything that you can't handle, so at least I sang a few songs tonight after a challenging, confusing, devastating day, stay hip and always have faith in yourself and in your qualities. #feelingthankful🙏 #moveon

His artistry, his lyrics will always stay resonant His artistry, his lyrics will always stay resonant within my heart. A poet a genius Morrissey tonight at radio City music Hall. Just like I saw them in London when I was in My thirties haha the road is long and I just love the singer-songwriters that can touch people in their hearts. Lyrically as Morrissey has touched me in my heart through the years. Happy birthday to me as Morrissey says I am human and I need to be loved just like everybody else does. The first time I heard the lyric I was living in London and I hear it today and it's so profound and loud I will continue to be live by my rules and my rules only. Life love, health, wealth and happiness. Truth and loyalty always wins. I'm also thinking of my days with @the_todd_rundgren and the lyrics he wrote. Lyrics are so important and so resonant and so real. As I turn another year around the Sun, I can only be thankful for my intelligence and the truths to have to my own soul. Happy birthday to me. Morrissey.

Robert Redford, our ultimate champion of independent film, relentless advocate for authentic storytelling and fiercely passionate environmentalist. Robert's legacy remains ingrained in our culture, transformed by his artistry, activism and the founding of Sundance Institute and Film Festival.

With Robert Redford’s passing we’ve lost one of the last great movie stars. There’s not many like him left. True spirit , What a gift he there on earth , a life well lived

An incredible actor, director, and visionary who supported and advanced so many important voices—filmmakers, theater artists, composers, and the arts in general. His heart was always in the right placexxxx

In December, it will be 45 years since his murder. In December, it will be 45 years since his murder. Today, the man who committed it was denied parole for the 14th time. Our school children participate, twice a month, in shooting drills. Our houses of worship are not a sanctuary from gun violence. Our politicians, even the most abhorrent, are not protected. There's a lot of harrumphing about the second amendment and rights, most of it not accurate, but my point is, what we are allowing isn't working.
We need sensible gun laws. We need to hold the NRA and the politicians that support them, accountable. And we need to do it now.#johnlennon #guncontrol #peace
On this night, September 10, 2001 ... 24 years ago On this night, September 10, 2001 ... 24 years ago:

246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights.

2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning.

343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift.

60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol.

8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift.

None of them saw past 11:00am Sept 11, 2001.

In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted.

Never forget. #lovewinseverytime #love #peacewithin #peace #september11 #neverforget911🇺🇸
